1. Peel, seed, and cut the pumpkin into small cubes.
2. Place the pumpkin cubes in a pot with a little water (about 1 cm or 0.4″).
3. Steam the pumpkin cubes by covering the pot with a lid.
4. Cook until the squash is tender, which usually takes about 15-20 minutes.
5. Once the pumpkin is soft, drain off the remaining water.
6. Then purée the cooked pumpkin with a food processor, blender, or hand masher until smooth.
7. Store the pumpkin purée in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freeze it for later use.
8. Use this wonderful seasonal ingredient for your baked goods, such as cakes, pancakes, and delicious tarts.
