The ingredients make 2 glasses of 300 millilitres each.
1. Wash, peel, and chop the apples.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped apples, water, and sugar.
3. Put the lid on and bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
4. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the apples become soft and tender.
5. After cooking, remove the saucepan from the heat.
6. Blend the mixture with a hand blender until the desired consistency is reached.
7. Stir in the lemon juice if desired.
8. Scoop the apple sauce into a serving dish.
9. Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top before serving to enhance the flavour.
