Ingredients for the dough
Ingredients for the garlic topping
1. Activate the yeast
Dissolve the yeast with 1 teaspoon of sugar in 4 tablespoons of lukewarm water and let it stand until foamy. It takes approximately 5-10 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare a baking tray by lining it with baking parchment and set it aside.
2. Make the dough
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour with a pinch of salt. Pour in the milk, followed by the olive oil and activated yeast. Knead the mixture well using the dough hook of a hand mixer. After kneading, cover the dough with a tea towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
3. Shape the dough
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times by hand. Then divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and shape each piece into a round roll.
Place the rolls on the lined baking tray, make a light crosswise cut, and cover them with a clean kitchen towel. Allow the rolls to rest for another 30 minutes.
During this time, preheat the oven to 200°C (395°F).
4. Bake
Place the tray with the rolls on the middle shelf of the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the rolls turn golden brown.
While the rolls are baking, mix minced garlic, olive oil, a pinch of salt, and any desired seasoning such as oregano or parsley.
5. Serve
Once the rolls are ready, remove them from the oven and immediately brush the garlic mixture over the still-warm rolls. Enjoy the delicious garlic rolls while they are still warm.
