1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and adjust the rack to the middle position.
2. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into even cubes.
3. Transfer the sweet potato cubes to a casserole dish or baking tray.
4. In a small bowl, combine olive oil with sweet ground pepper, ground cumin, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir until all the ingredients are well distributed.
5. Pour the oil and spices mixture over the potatoes and mix well. Ensure that all sweet potato cubes are evenly coated with oil and spices.
6. Place the casserole dish or baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender and slightly caramelized.
7. Once baked, remove the tray from the oven and allow the sweet potatoes to cool completely.
8. Transfer the cooled sweet potatoes to a food processor. Pulse the potatoes in the processor for a few minutes until a smooth mixture forms.
9. Taste the sweet potato spread and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
10. Once you have achieved the desired consistency and flavour, transfer the sweet potato spread to a serving bowl. It can be served immediately or refrigerated for later use.
